Your genetics, like a family history of obesity and diabetes, can impact your likelihood to gain weight.

Hormonal Changes

A hormone molecule

When you gain weight, your hormones may change.  In particular, weight actually impacts ghrelin "the hunger hormone." Often we have a "metabolic set-point" that needs to be reset and that takes time.

Environment

What should I expect from a coach?

When you schedule an appointment, we’ll ask for your contact information so we can send you a few questions to answer in advance. This allows your coach to get to know you and your goals before you arrive.  At the time of your appointment, you’ll get an email with a link to your Zoom video call. Just click the link to join.

Your coach will ask you about your journey with weight loss and what your current goals are. We’ll want to know how your weight is affecting your life and what successful weight loss will mean to you. We’ll want to know what you’ve tried before and whether that worked for you. And then we can have a conversation about what might work best for you in the future, directing you to relevant resources.

If you’re ready to give coaching a try, you can schedule an appointment.

Can I choose my coach?

Our coaches are not doctors and will not prescribe medication. But research shows that the first step towards a healthier life is weight loss, and working with a peer coach is a truly impactful first step on that journey.
